WHAT TO EXPECT AS A CONSULTANT

ONBOARDING

  • First we prepare an honest calculation that shows your anticipated net pay as well as all cost items.
  • Then we meet on Teams to align expectations.
  • If we are all happy, we proceed to the next step where you provide some information and upload your CV and ID to our portal.
  • We issue a compliant employment contract (which is quite detailed!) and we both sign.
  • You are now our employee.
  • We register you as our employee in the public employer-employee register (aa-register), and we enrol you in our insurance and pension plan.
  • We sign a service conract with the agency or end client.
  • Upon arrival in Norway, you must attend an ID control in Norway in order to get a Norwegian ID-number, wither a d-number or person number, depending on how long your contract lasts. We will book this appointment for you. You can also apply for a tax card / code or we can do this on your behalf later.
  • You will be a member of the Network North co-operative and you can attend digital assemblies and let your voice be heard.
PAYROLL
  • You keep a timesheet. Timesheet is normally kept either on the client's or the agency's system. You send us a copy at the end of each month.
  • If you have expenses, then these are kept separately as expenses are declared and taxed in very specific manners in Norway. All expenses must be documented by receipts apart from per diems and car allowances. We will ask you to sign an expense claim.
  • We issue invoice to the agency or client .
  • We receive funds.
  • We run payroll and deduct income tax.
  • We upload your pay slip and a detailed breakdown to our portal.
  • You receive net pay into your designated bank account in your chosen currency.
  • We declare your income and taxes to the tax office.
  • We pay your income tax, employer's national insurance contributions and pension premiums.
  • You receive holiday pay the following calendar year or at the end of the contract.
  • You can follow the payroll progress on our portal.
ABOUT US
  • Network North is a Norwegian company based in Norway and satffed by locals.
  • We are organized as a co-operative.
  • The co-operative's sole purpose is to provide financial gain for its members.
  • The main difference between a limited company and a co-operative is that a co-operative does not have owners, but instead a board and members.
  • All employees in Network North are members of the co-operative and can vote at general assemblies.
  • Members are not financially responsible for the co-operative.
  • Because we do not have owners, we don't have to pay dividends. When we don't have to pay dividends, there is more money for the consultants.
  • The more consultants that join the co-operative, the less money we have to spend per consultant on administration.
  • We believe that we are stronger and safer together together.
  • We believe that consultants working for consultants to better terms and conditions is a very good idea!
